Opportunity Details
AWE is looking for individuals to join their Facilities Management team, who work every day to maintain the safety, security, and wellbeing of both their buildings and the teams who work in them. This team plays a key role in delivering AWE’s mission and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
As a Facilities Management Apprentice at AWE, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted aspects of workplace management, such as managing welfare concerns, undertaking risk-based inspections, supporting emergency training exercises, and managing and authorising new works requests. Other aspects of the role include working with project teams, reviewing and approving safe systems of work packs for breakdowns and maintenance, liaising with and supporting residential groups, and networking with customers.
This role may appeal to you if you enjoy working within a Facilities Management office while also being out and about across facilities — interacting with residents and being hands-on with changes within the workplace.
In addition, AWE apprentices have the opportunity for personal development through activities such as team-building challenges, organisational awareness presentations, health and safety workshops, and charity projects.
The Benefits:
- A starting salary of £23,500 yearly, increasing to £25,000 in Year 2 and annually throughout your apprenticeship — subject to meeting key milestones and performance expectations
- Market leading contributory pension scheme
- Generous holiday entitlement of 270 hours a year (inclusive of Bank Holidays) plus every other Friday off
- Access to employee discounts portal - everyday savings on retail, hospitality and leisure
- Employee Assistance Programme and Occupational Health Services
Alongside these benefits you will get the opportunity to learn from some of the top leaders in their field whilst helping AWE to continue to deliver national nuclear security, threat reduction and counter-terrorism solutions.

This vacancy will close on the 23rd November 2025, but AWE will review applications as they come in — so they strongly encourage you to apply early. AWE want you to shine in your application process which is designed to be fair and transparent. So they've kept it simple with a three-step process:
