Job description Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to join our small friendly team working in the Fylde and Wyre area. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and the ability to create a positive impact on the lives of those they care for. Including promoting independence and providing true person centred care.
Responsibilities
· Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
· Assisting with meals, tailored to individual preferences.
· Medication Support.
· Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a trusting relationship.
· Assisting with domestic duties.
· Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
· Engage in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and well- being.
· Collaborate with service users, family members and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive, person-centred care.
We will need:
· Previous experience in care/support roles is preferred, but full training is provided.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with service users, families and team members.· A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
· Ability to manage challenging situations with patience and understanding.
· Flexibility to work throughout Fylde & Wyre.
· Ability to work alternate weekends on a rota.
· A valid driving licence and use of a car on every shift is essential.
· Our shift times are mainly 7-2pm & 4-10pm, and we will require candidates who can do a mixture of shifts OR just the evening shifts.

Qualifications Required
Level 2 a minimum of English and maths grades A*-D (9-3) (or equivalent) are desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 1/2 which are a requirement to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.
Training
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 2 Adult Care Worker Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.
Personalised programme
Your B&FC apprenticeship is made up of several different elements and each one reflects your individual abilities and career goals. Our expert tutors and assessors have relevant industry experience and will support you to achieve all your goals.
Off-the-job training
Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.
Stacks of support
Assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. When you start, you will be allocated a skills coach, who will visit you at least once a month to guide and support you and help you to plan for your future. We will also provide you with specialist support for your English and maths and for any additional needs that you make us aware of.

Things to consider:
Once you have successfully completed the program you will be submitted for your End Point Assessment. The EPA is an assessment of all the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you have learned throughout your apprenticeship; it confirms you are ready and competent in the career path you have chosen. These assessments have been designed and developed by employers in the industry to reflect the daily work of the business.
Please note that as part of your application, you are required to provide a copy of your CV and complete the college based online initial assessments in English and Maths.
