Nursery Teaching Assistant

provide particular support for pupils, including those with specialneeds, reinforcing their learning and ensuring their understanding? Establish constructive relationships with pupils? Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils? Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activitiesled by the teacher? Set challenging and demanding expectations and promoteindependence? Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievementunder guidance of the teacher? Make observations of pupils performance and responses tolearning and provide detailed and regular feedback to enable theteacher to assess pupil progress? Provide general clerical support to the teacher e.g. photocopying,filing, laminating, collecting money etc? Prepare, maintain and use resources and classroom equipment asdirected by the teacher and assist pupils in their use? Attend relevant meetings and participate in training opportunitiesand performance development as required? Take responsibility for the supervision of pupils out of lesson times,as necessary. This could be before or after school or atlunchtimesbreak times? Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out ofschool activities as required, including taking responsibility for agroup under the supervision of the teacher? Prepare the classroom for lessons ensuring that resources are inplace and cleared away at the end of the session as appropriate? Motivate and encourage the children to participate in activities andexplore and create their own activities? Setting up play areas, providing a variety of play materials, and ensuringthe environment is safe and stimulating for children;? Supporting the positive behaviour of pupils, ensuring an appropriatelevel of behaviour at all times in accordance with the schools behaviourpolicy;? Building positive relationships with children, their families, and otherprofessionals involved in their care.? Providing basic first aid or seeking help from a designated first aider andensuring that any incident is properly recorded;? To keep attendance records of children using the clubs? Ensuring the safety and well-being of children and adhering tosafeguarding policies and procedures.? To provide and prepare safe nutritional snacks for children, taking intoaccount food allergies dietary requirements? To attend training as agreed with the Before and After School ClubSupervisor to support your development? Ensure a clean, tidy environment conducive to fostering good health andsafety practice.? Support and uphold the Christian ethos of the school
