Description of Opportunity
The Halfords brand is distinct and unique…. there is nowhere quite like Halfords. Now, an exciting, unique and distinct opportunity awaits YOU. In many categories Halfords products are consistently the UK’s No.1 choice; testament to the trust the brand has earned through the long-term delivery of good value. The Traineeship programme has become an established part of Halfords’ approach to recruiting young people. It offers opportunities to candidates to progress into a paid job and ensures Halfords has a regular intake of loyal staff.
We will also enhance your Maths and English skills if necessary. We are looking for young people who are passionate about wanting to learn skills and develop knowledge to enable them to become a Halfords colleague at the end of the Traineeship. The Traineeship is an unwaged opportunity, however Qube will pay your travel expenses and your uniform will be provided by Halfords. We want people who want to work hard to achieve their own personal goals, and to make a career in this industry. This job involves standing on your feet for up to 8 hours a day so you need to be physically fit and aware that for the first few weeks this will be hard if you are not used to the working environment. The role is very demanding and busy so you need to be able to work in this fast-paced environment taking instruction from other members of the team. You will be working as part of a team and your role will change on a day to day basis as required by the store manager. Being part of a team means that everybody is expected to do every job - no picking and choosing. You will need to have finished education to be able to do the Traineeship and not already be educated at Level 3 or above. You will be given full training and have a member of staff that will mentor you through the Traineeship. You will need to be completely flexible to work when required over a 5-day period, while on the Traineeship your days of work are typically Monday to Friday 9am till 5.30pm (but you need to be flexible) If you are under 19 years of age your parents must be willing to support your application.
Does this sound like something you want to do/ can do? If the answer to all the above is yes then please respond as soon as you are able.
