Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is responsible for all nuclear sector regulation across the UK. ONR was formed as a new public corporation on the 1 April 2014. All ONR staff are specialists in areas related to their role in the regulation of the nuclear industry. The Divisional Delivery Support (DDS) staff provide essential operational resource in supporting technical specialists in a range of roles, providing individuals with a variety of career and development opportunities. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy team working with the drive and determination to make a significant contribution within the DDS Teams. Part of this role will be to work closely with a small team of administrators and with the DDS Manager to assist the Inspectors and DDS staff with a variety of administration work. Full training and support will be provided to assist you with this.

Detailed Job Description

Main duties

  • Diary management
  • Engaging with ONR’s Operational Business Team to arrange travel bookings for UK and overseas
  • Proactively ensure time and travel for Inspectors across the Divisions is organised in a professional manner, making effective use of time, resources and avoiding unnecessary travel.
  • Process all domestic and international travel bookings cost effectively and in accordance with ONR’s procedures.
  • Management and organisation of meetings between Licensees and Regulators:
  • Ensure meeting schedules, planners and attendee lists are maintained
  • Follow up queries from Licensee Interface Offices
  • Support the Divisions to meet their Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s);
  • Liaising with authors of Intervention Records and Contact Records to ensure they are produced and authorised/circulated in time to meet the deadline.
  • Input data accurately to all relevant spreadsheets and databases · Assist in producing quality management information from spreadsheets
  • Providing effective DDS support, as agreed with Line Manager, to other Regulatory Directorate functions, such as Freedom of Information requests and general enquiries

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

You must have at least 5 GCSEs grade A-C* including English Language *or equivalent. Successful applicants will be required to provide original certificates at the interview stage.

Additional Information

Training provided

Business Administration NVQ Level 2 will be delivered onsite alongside functional skills if required.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo and obtain security clearance prior to being appointed
