With experience and qualifications, you may be able to progress to front office manager or hotel manager. You could also move into different areas of hotel work, like events, sales, personnel or accounts. You might decide to move outside the hospitality industry into related areas like customer service and administration.
Food scientists and food technologists develop food and drink products, making sure they are safe to consume.
Waiters serve food and drinks to customers in restaurants and cafes, take orders and handle payments.
Baristas make and serve coffee in cafes, coffee shop chains, restaurants and hotels.
Counter service assistants greet, serve and take payment from customers buying food and drink.
Brewers produce and market alcoholic drinks like beers, ciders and gins.
Fishmongers sell fish and seafood products, and advise customers on how to prepare them.

Employers think apprentices are 15% more employable than those with other qualifications. In fact, many large employers train their graduates and apprentices together!
There’s only so much you can learn when you just do a qualification. As an apprentice, you’ll also get to learn on the job – whether that’s designing amazing graphics, chopping vegetables, or building engines!
