Training Delivery Model
Block Release Training (Motorcycle Technician Only)
During the apprenticeship, training will be carried out over a number of weeks at Triumph’s Apprentice Training facility in Doncaster. Dependent upon the apprentice home location it is likely that they will be required to stay overnight for each day of training. The programme and employers work closely to ensure that the accommodation is safe, supportive and suitable. Daily transport to the accommodation is provided.
Digital Training
Technology is continually evolving and the use of personal devices such as phones and tablets give the opportunity for some learning to be conducted on demand and without the need to travel. We are continually developing our resources and apprentices will have growing access to digital learning opportunities.
Workplace Training
A fundamental part of an apprenticeship is the acquisition of workplace knowledge and skills. Apprentices will be given access to learning opportunities supported by their workplace mentor to develop new skills and knowledge aligned to their apprenticeship job role. These learning activities are essential to develop competence and will work towards the apprentices mandated 20% off the job training hours requirement.
Progress Review
Progress and wellbeing reviews will take place periodically and are supplemented with reviews of action plan progress. The review is an opportunity for the apprentice, employer and trainer to engage and review apprenticeship progress. An appraisal of progress to date will drive agreed ongoing action plans and smart targets for the coming period. This is a vital activity and we use several assessment and progression methods to ensure a strong link between specific workplace progress, training engagement and overall apprenticeship progression.
Hotel Accommodation (Motorcycle Technician Only)
Whilst attending training at the Doncaster training centre, all the travel and accommodation fees are to be paid for by employers.
During the training apprentices will stay at the Hellaby Hall Hotel in Rotherham, near Sheffield. The apprenticeship package includes breakfast and evening meals, free Wi-Fi and use of the hotel’s leisure facilities (gym, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna etc.). Lunch will be provided at the training centre.
For more information about the hotel, please visit their website www.hellabyhallhotel.co.uk
Where permissible hotel rooms are generally on a twin sharing basis (following our Safeguarding Policy) unless the employer specifies and pays for single occupancy. Apprentices should speak with their employers if there are special requirements. There are also occasions, such as health pandemics, where single occupancy may have to be adhered to.
The programme works closely with the accommodation partner and uses both verbal feedback to react quickly to any potential concerns and a formal feedback mechanism to continually monitor and improve the provision.
An exciting role has just become available as a Motorcycle Technician Apprentice. The ideal candidate will be passionate about bikes and keen to start a career in the automotive industry. A driving license is preferred but not essential for this role.
