Jisc is a not-for-profit organisation that work to ‘improve lives through digital transformation’. Jisc works with their members; colleges and universities to help use technology to improve education and research for students. Jisc has a wide range of teams from Innovation and Cloud to Marketing, so there is lots of different roles within the organisation.

During my apprenticeship I have been able to shadow lots of different teams which has widen my knowledge on what Jisc does but also allow me to have experience in different roles to help me decide what I would like to do in my career. Jisc encourages shadowing opportunities to give employees experience in other fields of work and help them to develop their career. Jisc is a great place to work as an apprentice or graduate as you get lots of opportunities and support. You will have a mentor who is there for day-to-day support, a line manager who you have formal reviews with and who will support you during your apprenticeship. You will also have an early careers lead and the talent team who can help you with any issues you may be having or extra support you may need. Jisc provides many opportunities for apprentices and graduates to develop their skills and be involved in tasks that you wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to join in on. Jisc is very flexible, we can work from home or in the office. We get great benefits, such as well-being allowances, discounts for retailers, health insurance and great bonuses.
