Today British Sugar are one of the most efficient sugar producers in the world and their four advanced manufacturing plants across East Anglia and the East Midlands are renowned for their engineering and technological prowess.

British Sugar have created a vibrant and globally competitive British success story that not only is the leading producer of sugar for the British and Irish food and beverage markets, but that can also compete on an equal footing with any sugar processor in the world.

Producing virtually zero waste, they turn 99% of the materials used in the production of sugar into viable co-products – including animal feed and topsoil, bioethanol and renewable energy to name a few. British Sugar also have a long history long history of investing in alternative technologies – from Anaerobic Digestion to Combined Heat and Power plants – at their sites and continue to invest in their factories to help productivity and decarbonisation so they can play their part in reaching national net zero targets.

Their apprenticeship schemes are a great way to start your career with the only sugar producer in the UK that uses farm assured beet crops and partners with 2,300 growers.

Maybe you are about to finish school or college or are looking for a new career. Learning practical skills for 80% of your time by working alongside their experts and spending 20% of your time working towards your qualification that they pay for, as well as your salary and benefits. British Sugar's apprenticeships take between 2.5-4 years before moving to your first role.
