Description

Fantastic opportunity for an apprentice groom to join a family run business specializing in breeding and producing young show jumpers with world class blood lines and ability. The owners are successful show jumpers and have a small breeding program with top quality mares and stallions who have some of the best bloodlines in Europe. As well as having an excellent choice of young show jumpers for sale, they also take horses to produce for owners at any stage of their career, including breaking in, training, competing or on sales livery. The owner is a UKCC Level 3 qualified coach and can offer training for every level horse and rider.

The successful candidate must be confident handling youngsters.

General yard duties will include;

  • Mucking out
  • Tacking up and tack cleaning
  • Bringing in and turning out
  • Clipping/pulling/trimming/plaiting
  • Bathing
  • Schooling
  • Exercising horses (including lunging, horse walker, long reining)
  • Bandaging
  • Rug changing
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Paddock maintenance

Experience with horses is essential as successful candidate must be a competent rider. Please note that applicants with no experience will not be considered for this position.
No formal qualifications are required.
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training

  • Happy work outside in all weather
Possibility to progress on to a Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
