Candidates must be 18+ due to yard insurance policy.

Top class event rider has two vacancies for apprentices to join her friendly team, previous experience is necessary and competent riders are required. The horses vary from young stock up to experienced eventers so the candidates need to be confident. There would be opportunity to groom away at competitions and there would be plenty of opportunity to take your own horse competing if there is room on the lorry! A good sense of humour is a must and also someone that is prepared to work hard but also that wants to learn and work as part of a team.

All general yard duties such as;

  • Tacking up and tack cleaning
  • Mucking out
  • Feeding
  • Bringing in and turning out
  • Keeping the yard tidy
  • Rug changing
  • Riding Grooming at competitions
  • Lunging

Experience with horses is essential. Please note that candidates with no experience will not be considered for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training provided through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training

Successful candidates will be;

  • Experienced riders
  • Confident riding and handling event/competition horses
  • Good sense of humour
  • Willing to work hard with a positive attitude
  • Ambitious to succeed in the equine industry
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
Accommodation available and able to take own horse
