Poplars Farm Livery Stables Moreton in Marsh are currently recruiting for a full-time live-in groom on a fixed term contract to help in the stables. To work as part of a team responsible for the day-to-day care and maintenance of the horses and facilities. The role includes all normal yard duties; mucking out, poo picking of turnout areas, feeding, grooming the horses, tacking up, untacking, tack cleaning, washing off, turning out, bringing in, basic first aid. Ability to clip a bonus - but not essential as all training will be given needed to gain NVQ, Must be clean and tidy and work to high standards. Fantastic facilities in a great location. Possibility to do some competition grooming.On-site accommodation. A fantastic opportunity to work as part of a professional team. Sadly this an none riding posistion but some hacking out maybe required but not essential. We would be looking for the successful applicant to start asap. Own horse welcome for the right applicant sorry no dogs or live in partners. We are situated 2 miles from the closest town and therefore strongly suggest you have a full driving license and or a form of transport. General duties to include; Mucking out Turning out/bringing in Tack cleaning Tacking up Feeding Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming Bathing Grooming Hacking Paddock maintenance First aid Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Experience with horses is essential. Please note that applicants with no experience will not be considered for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English

Full training provided through the equine apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training

Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2, or possibility of full time employment on completion of Level 3
