Description

Ideal Level 2 candidate will be a rider willing to work as part of a team. Level 3 candidate will be an experienced rider, and someone who is able to assist with instructing and teaching. Must have a Level 2 Horse Care qualification.

Normal daily yard duties to include:

  • Mucking out
  • Bringing in/turning out
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Tack cleaning
  • Grooming
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock and yard maintenance
  • Bedding up and down
  • Skipping out
  • Lunging
  • Clipping,pulling,plaiting,trimming
  • Bathing
  • First aid
  • Helping to produce horses
  • Learning how to present a horse for a competition

This is an apprenticeship position for those aged 16-23.

Some previous experience with horses is essential. If you do not have the relevant experience we will not be able to put you forward for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Keen, hard working, friendly, fit, punctual, reliable, calm and confident handling horses.
Full time position on completion of diploma.
Possibility of accommodation if needed, but no space for your own horse.
