A great opportunity has become available at The George and Dragon Inn to join the talented kitchen team as an apprentice.We’re a small Yorkshire dales pub known for our real ales and good honest food, we’re a little different as we make everything ourselves and you will be expected to learn all these skills as you train. We have won awards for our drinks and food and are looking for a hardworking and driven apprentice chef to join our small team. The successful candidate will learn hands on and will be guided by our experienced team and family - we are all very passionate about good food and want an apprentice who feels the sameYou will primarily be assisting the main chef in all his day to day duties, this will include:Preparation of food,Vegetables,Meat,Fish,Pies,Bread,Specials,Salads.Also it will involve Cleaning the following:Work areas, Pots & pans,Crockery & Cutlery,Record keeping,Cleaning schedule,Temperatures,Compliance.When required you will be expected to help the front of house staff with serving foods.You will be required to work your way up from small prep and cleaning duties to eventually preparing meals yourself.As an Apprentice you will be included on a Cookery Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
