As a result of this ongoing positive feedback, we opened our 2nd branch in Neasden in late 2012 and already, our new parents are commenting on how well their child has settled into their new setting.

Detailed Job Description


• Adhering to the Policies and Procedures of Abracadabra Pre-school Nursery.

• Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.

• Working as part of the team

• Care and supervision of children.

• Offering all children equal opportunities with regards to religion, racial origins, gender, disability, cultural or linguistic background, etc.

• Positive management of children’s behavior.

• Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.

• Providing a good role model for the other members of staff and helping new staff to fit into the nursery.

• Helping with the preparation and supervision of meals and mealtimes.

• Laundry and cleaning duties.

• Reporting any accidents/incidents to one of the staff members.

• Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the senior members of staff.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

GCSEs or equivalent

Skills required

Good communication skills

Able to work within a team


Personal Qualities

Friendly personality who is able to work well with adults and children

Able to work under pressure

Willing to put 100% towards the role

Future prospects

The position will be reviewed once the 12 month Apprenticeship period is over.

Additional Information

Training provided

Training will be provided by Training Associates, providing the successful apprentice with an NVQ level 2 in children and young people’s workforce
