Detailed Job Description

Tex Plastics are at the leading edge of plastic injection moulding technology in the UK and continually review moulding processes to create better solutions for your product’s needs.

The company has established it’s expertise in the small to mid machine range, higher specification thermo plastic components and has an in-house white room production and specialised plant, to enable the production of multi-shot complex solutions to ensure their clients have the most competitive finished product.

As a Tool Technician you will make and repair mould tools and complete routine maintenance.

The job role will include:

  • making and repairing mould tools in a workshop environment
  • working from detailed drawings
  • maintenance of tools to specific tolerances

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Four GCSEs at Grade D (or equivalent) or above ideally to include Maths and English.

  • Team worker
  • Commitment and Enthusiasm
  • Good time keeping

  • Enthusiastic
  • High level of commitment
  • Clean and tidy
  • Enthusiasm for your subject and a willingness to work hard are essential.

Future prospects

There would be the opportunity to progress to an advanced apprenticeship or a full time permanent position as a Tool Technician for the right applicant.

Training provided

  • City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Engineering
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
  • Functional Skills in English and maths
  • Employee Rights & Responsibilities
  • Personal learning and thinking skills

Training will be provided by Petroc and will be a work based apprenticeship
