Dowry House Nursery School is seeking an Early Years apprentice to work under the direct instruction of a senior nursery nurse, to support access to learning for children and provide general support to other nursery nurses.
Main duties involve:
To work with children aged between 2 years and 4 years in co-operation with a Senior Nursery Nurse and under the general direction of the Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager.
To assist Nursery Nurses and Senior Nursery Nurses in the EYFS (Early years foundation stage) planning to ensure variety and diversity to maintain the children’s interest and to ensure development of the children.
To assist in providing high quality childcare and education for all children.
To assist in providing a safe environment by being aware at all times of the dangers and appropriate preventative measures, set a good example at all times.
To contribute to, and implement all the nurseries policies and procedures.
To attend in-service training where appropriate and to attend staff meetings when required.
Maintain serviceability of equipment, toys and books etc in the nursery.
Assist in the supervision of meal times, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
Whilst working towards your qualification ensure all targets are met as set by your assessor.
To maintain confidentiality at all times.
Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the nursery environment.
To ensure that a good example is set at all times in the way that children are spoken to and the words that are used and that the pronunciation is correct
Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, preferably with Grade C in English and Maths or grade 4 and above or functional skills equivalent
Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with an ability to work well with both children and adults.
To be able to work within a team and to show initiative within your own job role and responsibilities.
An energetic and enthusiastic person with a passion for making a difference to the lives of young children having a can do approach. A trustworthy person with exceptional attendance and timekeeping who is willing to work hard in a rewarding profession.
