The Boat and Outboard Centre are looking to recruit an Engineering Apprentice to join the team. You will be assisting in the maintenance and repair of boat engines and outboards. Occasionally you will also need to help in the shop and with customer queries.

Description

While servicing on the 2 stroke and 4 stroke boats and outboard engines some of the duties you will be completing are; oil changes, diagnostics and checking/changing spark plugs. You will need to order parts when required and diagnose faults. You will also have the opportunity to complete full engine re-builds as well as dismantling engines and storing parts.

  • You will need to be practically minded and have the ability to diagnose faults in motors.
  • You will need to be able to listen and follow instructions.
  • You will need to be IT literate as you will be required to order parts from main dealer web sites.
  • 4 GCSE’s at grades A*- D including Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • You must achieve a score of at least Level 1 on the online college Initial Assessment’s in English, Maths and IT.
You will work towards completing the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Engineering.
You will need to be confident as you will be in direct contact with customers. You should be trustworthy and presentable.
A full time position may be available at the end of the apprenticeship
This job role may include lifting and handling of heavy items.
