Detailed Job Description

An opportunity to become part of the Apprenticeship programme as a Parts Consultant. Supported throughout by an employer, this vacancy is for a 2 year apprenticeship that will resulting the successful candidate gaining an Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Parts.

As a Parts Apprentice you would be involved in a variety of tasks ranging from;

Dealing with Technicians, other companies and the general public

Answering the telephone

Taking orders

Ordering parts

Checking part

Putting stock orders away.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

GCSEs (or equivalent) grades A-C in

Maths

English

Science Please ensure you list all your qualifications, as lower grades may be considered.

Skills required

No specific skills required, however an interest in motor vehicles/parts would be beneficial.

Keen and enthusiastic

Able to work as part of a team

Training to be provided This is a Parts Consultant Apprenticeship, which will be delivered on block release at the Apprentice Training Centre at Doncaster, S.Yorks. As a result you will receive the following qualification;

Level 3 VCQ & VRQ Certificate in Vehicle Parts Operations

Functional Skills in English, Maths, ICT (if required)

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible, as the employer will start to interview as soon as applications are received. This may mean the vacancy may close before the date advertised. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). Your training will be delivered as block release, which will involve extended periods away from home (1 week blocks). The cost of travel and accommodation is met by the employer
