Detailed Job Description

We are based at a super 200 acre yard in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside. Some of the facilities we boast include 60 x 30 outdoor arena with rubber/fibre mix surface and mirrors, loose boxes with rubber floors, five Horse walker, XC course, brand new stable block, extensive tack room & drying rooms, feed room, hard standing parking, 200 acres includes year round, grass turnout paddocks.

Fantastic local hacking available and there would be plenty of opportunity to travel and groom at events. Top class horses and facilities.

All general yard duties such as;

  • Mucking out
  • Bringing in/turning out
  • Making feeds
  • Paddock and yard maintenance
  • Grooming
  • Lunging
  • Putting the horses on and off the walker
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping, plaiting, trimming, pulling, bathing

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English

Skills required

Some previous experience with horses is essential. If you do not have the appropriate experience, you will not be put forward for the position.

Personal Qualities

Keen, hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic, punctual, good with horses

Future prospects

Full time position on completion of diploma.

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

Shared accommodation, no space for your own horse.
