Folksworth Preschool was established in 1979, we are based in a small Cambridgeshire Village, and set in the village hall on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays. We offer funded and non-funded spaces to 2-4 year olds from 9am -3pm, We provide a stimulating and caring environment with a varied curriculum to ensure progression of experience and learning. We give each child the opportunity to stimulate their imagination, develop creativity, enrich their language, develop self-confidence and gain the social skills required to enable them to successfully integrate with others when they go to school

Detailed Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting staff with the care of children with regard to their physical, emotional and educational needs whilst working effectively as part of a team. Duties will include:-

  • Adhering to the policies & procedures and ensuring all children are offered equal opportunities in relation to the equality and diversity act
  • working with the Nursery Nurse on planning and preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs
  • liaising with parents ensuring effective communication within the nursery
  • keeping and maintaining of children’s development records and observations
  • positive management of children’s behaviour
  • preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment
  • providing a good role model for children and helping them fit into the nursery
  • keeping and updating accident, incident and risk assessment records
  • supervision of meals and mealtimes and where appropriate
  • nappy changing and assisting with toileting
  • assisting with meal times, food preparation and feeding

You will also to be required to help with the general housekeeping and tidying as well as completion of any necessary paperwork. You will also be expected to attend staff meetings/training as required
