Detailed Job Description

Launch your Engineering career in an exciting new role, working with the Engineering Managers, as your mentors, learning all aspects of Quality Systems, at Aeroflex Hose and Engineering LTD.

The successful candidate will start their training under a mechanical engineering apprenticeship. This will provide the solid foundations in which to build your career as an advanced engineering – Trainee Inspector. The ideal candidate will possess academic flair, practical ability and ambition.

The successful candidate will undergo regular reviews, and will progress in accordance to performance, once established within the role.

Immediate duties and training will cover :

  • Test and verification of products
  • Test Inspection
  • General engineering duties, understanding concepts
  • Understanding of products
  • Production methodology
  • Machine shop - manual and cnc
  • Building mechanical assemblies
  • Measurement systems

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Minimum 5 A-C grade GCSE or equivalent including English, Math required

Additional Information

Training provided

The successful candidate will undertake an Advanced Apprenticeship including both on and off the job training.

Training may be carried out by Brockenhurst College at Unit 5 Brock House, Grigg Lane, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RE, as well as the employer premises for some workshops.

An Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering comprises of the following:

  • City and Guilds Technical Certificate L3
  • NVQ Level 3
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT
  • ERR Certificate

Training will be part of the contracted hours agreed that makes up the working week.
