Description

  • To assist Service Users who need help with getting up in a morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and the toilet.
  • To help Service Users in the use of care aids and personal equipment.
  • To care for Service Users who are sick and needing, for example minor dressings, bed nursing.
  • To help Service Users with feeding.
  • To help care for Service Users who are dying.
  • To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of Service Users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as lV, radio, hobbies and recreation.
  • To make and change beds and clean all rooms, both Service Users and public rooms.
  • Domestic cleaning within the home and/or supporting service users to complete such tasks where appropriate. To launder and mend Service Users’ clothes.
  • To prepare and serve meals and tidy and clear up afterwards.
  • To answer the door, the telephone and greet visitors.
  • To read and write reports.
  • To take part in both staff and Service Users meetings.
  • To follow a training programme.
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
  • To comply with the Home’s guidelines and policies at all times.
  • To report to the Home Manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a Service User.
  • To encourage Service Users to remain as independent as possible.
  • To assist in creating a positive environment.

Must attain a Level 1 on the initial assessment at College.

A full time position will be available upon completion of apprenticeship.
