Description

Small family run varied yard, including top class eventers, point to pointers, pre-training, breaking and schooling.

We are a 100 acre working farm with superb outdoor school, 3 furlong canter track, 5 horse walker and a jump field with 18 plus jumps.

Opportunities include;

  • Working with and ride lovely horses on a day to day basis.
  • Come to competitions – including racing or eventing or showing all over the UK
  • Able to bring your own horse and benefit from great facilities and training available
  • Always working with different horses and a wide range of day to day tasks.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling Riding
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Must have some experience with horses
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training provided by Haddon Training
Successful candidate must be hard-working, have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team as well as using your own initiative.
Possibility of Level 3 Senior Groom Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
