The Apprentice Warehouse Assistant supports the Warehouse Manager working under their direction and ensures a highly ordered storage and dispatch service for production and sales departments is created and maintained.The Apprentice Warehouse Assistant will also be trained in production and packing and will provide support in these areas when requirements for the business vary.
Sales Orders
Pack orders accurately and efficiently and dispatch them on the required day according to procedures.
Monitor supplies of materials used for packing and communicate appropriately to ensure availability matches demand.
Responsible for successful timely collection of post /orders and communication with freight companies regarding collection times.
Goods In
Follow procedures for the receipt of raw materials and other deliveries to the warehouse
Prepare incoming goods for storage as appropriate.
Liaise with the Quality Control Supervisor to enable them to conduct QC procedures for incoming packaging and ingredients.
Warehouse
Ensure all stock in the chiller, packaging warehouse, loading bay and freezer is maintained at the correct temperatures, correctly labelled and is stored in an accessible, efficient manner.
Rotate ingredients, packaging and work in progress to ensure that they are used in correct date order at all times.
Stock take
Maintain daily running balance of finished goods stock count and an awareness of potential stock issues.
Conduct weekly stock takes:
finished goods, alcohol, truffles awaiting packing, point of sale materials and other factory consumables.
Carry out monthly ingredient stock take.
Assist with 6 monthly total stock take and carry out non-routine stock takes as required.
Servicing Production areas
Packing room
Get chocolates and packaging from store to meet the days production program.
Notice and address any incorrectly labelled and packaged goods Ice cream
Arrange pallets, after the production team has finished palletizing the product, to maximise space and maintain easy access.
Mixing Take ingredients from store, into the production room to meet the requirements of the production program.
Enrobing Store enrobed chocolates in specified locations.
Maintenance
Carry out routine maintenance as scheduled:
Air conditioning filters;
dust extraction filter; grease trap; light bulbs; forklift.
Assess and report any facilities faults to the Production Administrator and address them as instructed by them.
Health and Safety:
Liaise with Health & Safety Mentor, to ensure that The Booja-Booja Company meets legal requirements for Health & Safety including COSHH Responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to in the warehouse area.
Ensure that you take responsibility for your Health and Safety in the work place and notify the nominated Supervisor/ the Production Manager immediately in the area you are working, if there is anything that concerns you.
Responsible for testing the freezer alarm weekly on Tuesdays.
As an Apprentice you will be included on an Intermediate Diploma in Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
