Description

You will be expected to have key skills in communication, organisation, time management, numeracy, accuracy and own initiative and to develop these skills further in order to provide a comprehensive and effective administrative service.

We require a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite along with good general IT skills which can be developed further within the post. Good communication skills, attention to detail and working to a high standard of detail and accuracy are critical to the role. Previous experience of working in a busy office environment, providing administrative support to multiple people, data entry / spreadsheets would be desirable but not essential.

Experience of arranging meetings, minute taking and event planning and organisation would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team, communicating effectively and courteously with a wide range of internal / external personnel.

You will be expected to represent the department at events and be an advocate for the apprenticeship scheme as well as support colleagues on work placement programmes. The successful post-holder will support the Senior Research Management Team and will be based with a member of the Senior Management Team. The role will involve setting up and booking meetings, creating agendas, taking minutes and distributing these to relevant parties. It will also include general administrative support for the management team, including filing, photocopying, data entry, producing letters / reports and some database / spreadsheet work.

Another aspect of the role involves event planning, organisation and support as well as fundraising for our charities which may occur outside of normal working hours, although this will be rare.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there is a possibility of a job role.

The post-holder must work within infection control guidelines to ensure that work methods do not constitute a risk of infection either to the health care professional, to the client or to any persons working / visiting in RCHT premises.
