Description

The main duties of this job role will include:

Working with children to lead activities and work with individual children or groups of children, under direction adapting the needs of the children.

Communicate with children to encourage their social, physical development and encourage acceptable behaviour.

Liaise and establish positive relationships with parent/carers, exchanging information on the child, children.

Keep records and information accurate and up to date.

Contribute to the planning and development of learning and play activities.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures.

You will need an enthusiastic manner with a passion to work in the childcare sector.

You will need to have good communication skills, creative ideas and skills, a smart appearance and be reliable, punctual and work well within in a team.

Desired qualifications

Level 2 qualification Working with Early Years/Young People

4 GCSE’s at Grades A-D, or equivalent.

Must attain a Level 1 on the initial assessment at College.

NVQ Level 3 in Working with Young People

Functional Skills Level 1 Maths, English and ICT

Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

First Aid

Reliable, punctual, hardworking, keen to learn and work with young children, good teamwork skills.

Successful candidates will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) Check.

Permanent position on completion of Apprenticeship.
