Detailed Job Description

An AAT role with a HAT member firms offers you the chance to earn, learn and study for a professional qualification without incurring any student debt. In addition to earning a highly competitive annual salary, you will learn the practical aspects of accountancy whilst studying towards the AAT qualification. You will receive excellent training, combining support with your exams, practical training courses and regular reviews of your work experience. You will have the benefits of working for a small organisation, which values you as an individual, but with all the benefits of training with a large organisation.

Qualifications required

112 UCAS tariff or equivalent minimum requirements, plus a grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Future prospects

After completing your AAT training, subject to performance, there is the opportunity to move onto ACA training.

Additional Information

Training provided

You will cover a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. You’ll learn and master a number of accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants

Units include:

  • The importance of professional ethics in the working environment
  • Use of spreadsheets to manage information in the accounting environment
  • Analysing variances
  • Reconciling ledgers
  • Making provisions for doubtful and irrecoverable debts

Holiday: 22 working days paid holiday each calendar year; Pension: Workplace pension paid into the NEST scheme whereby the total minimum contribution is 5%, we pay an employer contribution of 4% and the employee makes a contribution of 1% on their qualifying earnings; Benefits: This includes season ticket loans, paid professional subscriptions, free annual eye test, free fitness classes (yoga and boot camp at different times of year), buy or sell holiday, tea, coffee and fruit, cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers.
