Description
This a fantastic opportunity to join a small friendly team, learn new skills, gain knowledge of the Hospitality industry whilst working towards gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
Main duties will include:
Food preparation
Cooking and presenting dishes to a high standard
Preparing fresh vegetables, salads and homemade sauces
Cooking food to the menu specifications whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.
You will work alongside the Head Chef to ensure that dishes leave the kitchen simultaneously to ensure customer satisfaction.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship.
Your qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

You should have a willingness to learn, demonstrate self - motivation, but above all else have a passion for working with food. The right candidate should have the ability to work on their own initiative, anticipate the next task whilst also being able to work as part of a team.
Some previous kitchen experience would be an advantage, however not essential as you will complete your Apprenticeship in Food Production and Cooking as well as receiving on-going on training from an experienced Chef. If you do not possess a GCSE Grade ’C’ in English and Maths you will complete Functional skills as part of your Apprenticeship.
Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
We are looking for someone that will fit into our team therefore you must be reliable, possess good communication skills whilst also being friendly and having a good sense of humour.
