Description

Excellent training course package included for apprenticeships (opportunity to attend Foaling the Mare and Foal and Yearling Management courses) as well as the opportunity to assist with the annual open day and attend other equestrian related events. This is a non riding position but ideal for someone looking for experience in the equine breeding industry.

General duties to include;

• Mucking out and general yard duties

• Turning out/bringing in

• Assisting with day to day collections

• Tacking up/bandaging

• Feeding

• Filling hay nets/water

• Grooming plus some clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming

• Bathing

• Rug changing

• First aid and weighing

• Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, pessoa training etc.)

• Holding for vet/farrier/dentist/physio

• Tack cleaning

Some horse care experience is required

Must feel confident working with fit stallion horses

Ability to complete Functional Skills in English and Maths
Full training provided by Haddon Training Apprenticeships
Must love horses, be keen to learn, friendly and outgoing. Must be able to work on your own at times and use your initiative. Honesty, reliability and trustworthiness are a must.
Full time employment possible after completion of apprenticeship
