We spoke with one of our Training Providers for their top tips on getting the best out of your candidate profile and what will help you be seen!

Dear Candidates of GetMyFirstJob,

Your profile is how we find out who you are as a person; it is a little window into your life. A window that we, as the training provider, would like to see into clearly. It is very important that your contact details and address details are correct on your profile. These are key pieces of information that every employer would like to see, however, without a bit of extra information that is all they will be able to see you as, a name on a bit of paper.

That is the opposite of what you should be aiming for. Your details should be jumping off that piece of paper, convincing the employer that you are the right person for the role. Are you looking for an accounting role? Explain your interest and your passion about finances. Are you looking for a Health and Social Care role? Detail how you are an extremely caring and loving person. No matter what you apply for, make sure the employer can see how interested you really are!

As Learning Engagement Executives for Hart Learning and Development, we deal with hundreds of applications through GetMyFirstJob every week. The amount of people who have no detail on their application is quite shocking, we cannot stress enough how important it is for your profile to be fully complete with an up to date professional CV attached.

Your chances of getting an apprenticeship vastly increase if your profile is complete; if your profile is not complete, it is very likely that your details will not reach the employer.

Please, for your own benefit and in the interest of future career, complete your profile and attach a professional CV. It does not take long and I guarantee that you will not regret it!

Kind regards,

John Proctor and Annja Day
