With experience you could train new healthcare assistants. With training, you could become an assistant practitioner in chiropody or podiatry, occupational therapy, radiography or physiotherapy. You could also apply to train as a nurse, radiographer, dietitian, midwife or social worker.
Cosmetic surgeons treat people who choose to alter their appearance. Plastic surgeons repair tissue damaged through illness or injury.
Midwives support pregnant women and their babies before, during and after, childbirth.
Speech and language therapy assistants help support people who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking or swallowing.
Sonographers use ultrasound equipment to screen and diagnose medical conditions.
Health promotion specialists educate and inform people about health issues.
Operating department practitioners (ODPs) provide skilled care and support to patients at all stages of an operation.

Employers think apprentices are 15% more employable than those with other qualifications. In fact, many large employers train their graduates and apprentices together!
There’s only so much you can learn when you just do a qualification. As an apprentice, you’ll also get to learn on the job – whether that’s designing amazing graphics, chopping vegetables, or building engines!
