If you've been out of nursing for a while you could do a Return to general practice nursing course. You don't need previous general practice experience, as you can do placements in the community to help you move into general practice roles.

You could specialise in health promotion, chronic disease management, diabetes or asthma care. With experience and qualifications you could become a nurse practitioner, managing your own caseload of patients. You could also move into management, teaching or research.
Nutritionists share scientific food knowledge and advice about the effects of diet and nutrition on health and wellbeing.
Prosthetists and orthotists use the latest technology to create aids to help patients move without pain.
Nursing associates care for sick people of all ages in hospital and in the community, working closely with registered nurses.
Orthoptists work with a team of specialists to diagnose and treat eye problems.
Care workers help vulnerable people to manage their daily activities and to live as independently as possible.
Mental health nurses work in hospitals and the community, to support people with mental health issues.

There’s only so much you can learn when you just do a qualification. As an apprentice, you’ll also get to learn on the job – whether that’s designing amazing graphics, chopping vegetables, or building engines!
