Sports scientists use knowledge of how the body works to help people improve their health or sporting ability.
You could take a degree in sport and exercise science. Courses that cover the 3 foundation subjects of biomechanics, physiology and psychology, will keep your job options broad. Alternatively you could do a degree in a science related subject followed by a postgraduate qualification in sports science. This may include subjects like:

Football referees officiate at football matches, from local youth and amateur leagues up to professional level.
Astronauts fly spacecraft and do experiments in space.
Swimming teachers help people learn to swim, improve their swimming skills and how to exercise in water.
Fairground workers operate and maintain rides at theme parks or travelling fairs.
Education technicians support science, art, IT or design and technology teachers by preparing equipment and materials for practical lessons.
You will be a permanent member of the Leisure Centre Team carrying out job roles such as General Assistant, Recreation Assistant, Concierge, Swimming Teacher & Fitness Instructor. The job roles that you are rotated for will be dependant on which Qualifications you have achieved as well as the needs of the centre.
