Description
The paralegal apprenticeship offered by Stephenson Harwood is a great opportunity for you to kick start your career in the legal profession. We will provide you with exciting opportunities to work on deals with international clients and give you the chance to study for a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship Standard.
For the academic side of the scheme you will gain lots of useful knowledge relating to the structure of the law. BPP will teach the course through a combination of online and face-to-face learning and you will have one day a week to dedicate entirely to your studies.
You will spend the rest of the week as part of a team of paralegals, you can expect to be helping our lawyers with a variety of tasks such as:
- Carrying out legal research relevant to clients matters
- Drafting documents
- Liaising with the team to ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner
- Providing assistance in compiling court/transaction bundles
- Managing and maintaining files
In recognition of your efforts in work and study, we will pay you a competitive salary of £19,201. It will be a challenge but we will provide you with lots of support with a dedicated supervisor and buddy and lots of opportunities for training and development.

- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word would be beneficial
- GCSEs: 8 GCSE grades A* - C including English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
- A-level: 3 A-level grades totalling 112 UCAS points (BBC)
As a Paralegal Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Paralegal Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Additional learning within the apprenticeship will enable you to be awarded a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Legal Services which can afford you exemptions from the first year of the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship with BPP.
Your apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face training from and on-the-job learning.
- We are looking for apprentices who are enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills.
- You'll need strong analytical skills, sound judgement, imagination and meticulous attention to detail.
- Also vital are the communication skills to be persuasive and build rapport, plenty of drive and determination, plus a keen interest in business.
