Description

Duties in this role will include:

  • Checking and inputting purchase invoices, putting them into dispute if required. Collating the month end payment run for review by the financial controller.
  • Inputting sales invoices on job completion, selecting the correct VAT code depending on the end user. Monitoring sales ledger, credit control.
  • Raising job numbers in Sage, ensuring the information is complete.
  • General assisting with office admin.
  • Weekly reporting on jobs to assist in work in progress calculation.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required by the financial controller.

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2

This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.

Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)

  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)

  • Principles of Costing (PCTN)

  • Business Environment (BESY)

  • EPA - In Tray exercise

Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.

  • Interest in finance and a career progression in finance.
  • You will be reporting directly into the Financial controller so are looking for someone who wants to develop their career and continue studying past AAT. We are happy to fund ACCA/CIMA after AAT with a view that the right candidate will progress from Finance Assistant through to Management Accountant and beyond.
