Based in the Parts and Logistics team this apprenticeship position provides an incredible platform to build a career at BMW Group UK. This four-year apprenticeship is designed to provide the successful candidates with a wide experience across these closely interlinked fields in an exciting environment that is constantly evolving. The successful candidates will help to oversee the UK Supply Chain and distribution of car parts and accessories across the UK and Ireland, for BMW, MINI, Rolls Royce and Motorrad. The apprentice will be responsible for short terms initiatives and innovations as well as supporting several long-term strategic projects. They will be working with the Parts and Logistics team and alongside our central departments in Munich, along with the wider departments responsible for Strategy, Business Development and the Customer. The responsibility will cover all supply chain elements such as Part supply, purchasing, customs, transportation, warehousing, route development, fulfilment principles, inventory management, quality, packaging, contract management, Health and safety, security, storage & racking solutions, tender processes, contract writing and many more.
What will you be doing?
This apprenticeship will see candidates involved in helping to improve the quality of logistics, delivery, processes, communication whilst achieving sales targets, reducing logistics costs, enhancing customer experience and supporting retailer performance.
•Full interaction with the entire Parts and Logistics team, to truly understand and support the full logistics supply chain.
•Interaction with the Parts managers regarding service performance, customer complaints and support open forums and regular service performance reviews, present project and strategy brief to senior supplier management.
•Involvement with the Purchasing managers regarding contractual change, service tendering and supporting negotiations with Service providers to procure most cost effective and professional services.
•Supporting Retailer Hub communications regarding operational changes, service disruption, policy changes
•Regular interaction with our central Munich departments regarding logistics topics, projects & change management.
•Communication with Finance and Controlling to review auditory control measures.
•Regular discussions with the IT Dept. regarding system issues and potential Innovation.
•Regular interaction with the General Manager and Parts team colleagues regarding continuous improvement.
•Communication with internal responsible Departments regarding security, safety, fire control, compliance, legal matters, facility management

Following this, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited to a face-to-face Assessment Centre with BMW Group. Provisionally, the Assessment Centre is due to take place week commencing 15th March 2024.
