Description

Building on our successful apprenticeship scheme we have an exciting opportunity for a versatile and flexible person to learn and develop in all aspects of CNC operations. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual who is willing to learn and develop new skills with the following attributes:

· Display the ability to fit into the DPE team.

· You must have a positive and helpful attitude.

· You must have the ability to listen and follow instructions.

· You must have basic problem-solving skills.

· You must be an excellent communicator.

· Previous manufacturing or engineering experience would be useful but not essential.

Throughout the training we will cover the following both in-house and external training courses:

· Health and Safety at work

· Health and Safety regulations on machinery and work equipment

· Machine controls and operation

· Material identification

· Basic settings and operating and techniques.

· Reading and understanding technical drawings

· Using Measuring equipment

· Tool identification and selection

· Manual Handling

To be successful in this role, excellent communications skills are required along with the ability to strive for 100% accuracy and customer satisfaction, you must also be hard working, reliable and diligent in all aspects of your role, a good understanding of mathematics is also required.

  • Grade 4 GCSE or above in English and Maths.

· Tooling and work-holding devices: purpose and operation of devices for carrying out complex machining tasks.

For example, parallel; stepped; angular diameters and faces; grooves; slots; recesses and undercuts; radii and chamfers; internal and external forms and profiles; reamed; bored; drilled and electro eroded holes; internal and external screw threads.

· Measure and check components.

· Select and check condition of tools and equipment. Identify issues, resolve and take action as needed.

· Identify and action issues in the manufacturing process.

· Apply fault-finding and diagnostic testing procedures to identify faults. Diagnose and resolve issues. Escalate issues.

· Maintain the work area and return any resources and consumables.

· Follow machine shut down, safe isolation, handover, start up or warm up procedures. Escalate issues.
