Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines.
  • Contribute to building data observability tools to ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across the organisation.
  • Optimise processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and warehousing.
  • Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Software Engineers to build, automate and refine data products which solve business problems.
  • Support client delivery for analytics engineering projects (these projects may involve elements of data analysis and data science).

Desirable skills: 

  • Python / SQL coding skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of data modelling techniques.
  • Communication and stakeholder management abilities both internally / externally.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to data integrity and security.
  • Familiar with Extract, Transform, Load or ETL processes will help
  • A passion for data engineering and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts and tools is a plus.

Entry requirements:

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade.

Acceptable qualifications include, any of:

  • Two A levels in one or more similar subject.*
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject.
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject.
  • Experience with programming languages (such as Python)
  • OR equivalent work experience:
  • 2-3 years in a similar subject-related role.

*'Similar subject' relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with 'Digital and Technology Solutions'. Typically this would be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.

Please note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
