Outside of work I am really interested in fashion, music and going to the gym. As part of this I have a keen interest in photography and vintage fashion. I also love going to concerts and hanging out with cats.
It is an amazing opportunity to learn from industry professionals and grow your own skill set! To find a career path you enjoy but also be able to gain a qualification is a dream!
My job focuses mainly on early careers and I am helping young people to find career paths in media and educate them more about what it is like to work in media. I recruit many apprentices for Channel 4 which includes posting a job onto our Careers website and then working with hiring managers in the business with the recruitment process such as setting up interviews and offering candidates the job. I also post on our social media platforms like LinkedIn so the public know about our new job opportunities. On a day-to-day basis my job is very varied!
The highlight of my apprenticeship so far has been when I participated in a talk to a group of Year 9 students at a school and told them about my apprenticeship and job role and answered their questions! I love to help people and I really enjoy educating young people on the alternative routes to university!
The biggest challenge has been to not overwork my self! My colleagues always support and encourage us to not take on more than you can handle but it is easy to get carried away and get too indulged in your work! Alongside this, I have a huge support network! My manager has been by my side throughout the whole process. We also have a big group of apprentices at my company, and we are all supportive of each other! My training provider always checks in on me and has regular meetings to make sure I am on track and understanding my Apprenticeship study work!
University is not the only option! Apprenticeships are still a great way to meet lots of people in life and do something you enjoy everyday!
