You should be a career orientated individual, have a methodical and practical approach to learning and encompassed with a desire to succeed academically. Being hands on will also ensure that this apprenticeship is fulfilling, rewarding and achievable.
4 GCSEs, grades A-C (achieved or predicted), including maths, English Language and science. (Equivalent qualifications will be considered). Candidates meeting these minimum criteria will be invited to SETA to sit aptitude tests.
Enthusiasm and a determination to succeed. Self-motivation, to ensure college deadlines are met, and an inquiring mind. Work effectively as a team player in every respect – within your own team while on shift but also the wider maintenance teams. Ensure attendance at daily shift briefings to understand the wider production performance and needs and how this impacts the maintenance team. You should be a career orientated individual, have a methodical and practical approach to learning and encompassed with a desire to succeed academically whilst also being proactive. This will ensure that this apprenticeship is fulfilling, rewarding and achievable.  The willingness to assist colleagues and undertake any other duties within level of capability as required between core responsibilities is essential.
Starts at £5 p/h depending on age of the candidate, increasing every year until they're 20, then it is based on performance. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual and will be an excellent opportunity to begin your career with a progressive company.  Apprentices must be able to travel to and from SETA training facilities in Millbrook Southampton for long block training weeks and to Marden Edwards in Wimborne. You will be required to attend long block training at SETA Southampton to ensure your training is effectively given and also to work within the teams at Marden Edwards whilst not attending the normal workplace. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).  The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage guide is updated every April (ANMW): https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
