Description
Our apprentice scheme offers rotations between four main domains across finance; Accounts Payable, Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Costing/Pricing.
During the AAT studies that run parallel to the apprenticeship you can expect to take on dedicated focus roles in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as well as taking on deliverables contributing towards the accounting month end close and the balance sheet reconciliation processes.
Alongside this you will be given the opportunity to learn in-depth system knowledge in the product costing and pricing area as well as the other reporting and ERP software packages.

Basic Excel skills, good organisation skills, able to work independently and within a team, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A Levels (Relevant A Levels may qualify you for consideration for Level 3 AAT).
- GCSE's grades 9/A* - 5/B including Maths and English.
Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2.
This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.
Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:
- Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)
- Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)
- Principles of Costing (PCTN)
- Business Environment (BESY)
- EPA - In Tray exercise
An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate time to off the job training, as well as completing knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with your apprenticeship.
Adaptability, work ethic, passion for learning and a ‘can do’ attitude will be central to personal success.
Past Finance apprentices who have excelled in their roles have secured permanent roles in the department. There is however no guarantee that this will be replicated in the future. The future opportunities are dependent upon the growth and direction of the business over time.
Please note, the salary is £12,480-£15,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
