Description
As our Trainee Accountant, you will be responsible for working in and supporting the Finance and Project teams whilst studying towards chartership. This is a great opportunity to join a successful, high tech, growing business to continue your career in Accountancy and Finance and drive the finance function forward within the business. This is a new role created by the company to support its business expansion, having nearly tripled its revenue over the last 6 years.

- A chance to be exposed of the entire end to end accounting function of the business.
- Monthly bank and cashflow forecasting.
- Month end closing work, preparation of drafts accounts working collaboratively with the department.
- Project accounting reports and schedules.
- Responsibility for purchase ledger daily duties.
- Company credit card reconciliation.
- Stock reporting and reconciliation.
- Budget spend monitoring and variance analysis reports; review with the director or budget owner.
- Maintenance of timesheet system for project costings.
- Assist in the annual audit, preparation of schedules.
- Annual budget preparation and review.
- Review any adhoc payroll requests, such as P11Ds, PAYE settlements.
- R&D and patent box calculation and reports
- KPI report preparation for management account
Role development
This role begins as a trainee accountant role to give the right candidate the maximum amount of exposure to support attainment of CIMA/ ACCA qualifications. As a fast growing business that values growing its own talent, this role is expected develop alongside studies and a full management accountant or financial controller role is possible for the right candidate.
Support from 3P’s knowledgeable commercial director (ACMA) throughout studies will be on hand.
Whilst you will be working alongside lots of other team members at different times, most often you will be working for the Commercial Director, and with the Senior Bookkeeper, on a day-to-day basis.

- Working experience in a finance department.
- Experience with Sage.
- Strong desire to learn and be challenged on a day-to-day basis.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills or the aptitude to acquire them.
- Numerate with very strong attention to detail.
- With customers and suppliers all around the world, a second language can be beneficial, but not essential.
- 5 GCSEs including a 7 or above in Maths
- AAT L4

- Salary of £25,000 per annum.
