Hospitality and food
Publicans manage licensed premises like pubs and bars.
You may be able to start by doing a hospitality manager higher apprenticeship. You could then apply to become a pub landlord once you've built up your experience in the drinks trade. You'll usually need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A-Levels, or equivalent.
It's possible for anybody with enough financial backing to buy a pub or bar. As a manager of a pub or bar that sells food, you'll usually need a qualification in food safety accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

If you're employed by a chain or brewery, you could become a regional manager. You could become self-employed and expand your business by buying additional pubs or bars.
Cake decorators design, make and decorate cakes for birthdays, weddings and other special occasions.
Waiters serve food and drinks to customers in restaurants and cafes, take orders and handle payments.
Hotel room attendants make sure that hotel rooms are clean, tidy and inviting for guests.
Hotel porters welcome guests, carry their luggage and answer their questions.
Hotel managers are in charge of the day-to-day running of a hotel.
Street food traders run their own businesses, serving customers food and drinks from a stall or van.

As an apprentice, the minimum you’ll earn is £6.20 an hour, but we’ve seen apprentices earn a starting salary of up to £30,000 a year! You could also get other employee benefits like gym memberships, paid holiday, and sick pay.
Employers think apprentices are 15% more employable than those with other qualifications. In fact, many large employers train their graduates and apprentices together!
There’s only so much you can learn when you just do a qualification. As an apprentice, you’ll also get to learn on the job – whether that’s designing amazing graphics, chopping vegetables, or building engines!
