Sports development officers organise projects and training to encourage people to take part in sport and have a healthier lifestyle.
You'll find it useful to have a foundation degree, higher national diploma or degree in a related subject like sports development, sports coaching or sports science.
You'll usually need 1 or 2 A-Levels, or the equivalent, for a foundation degree or higher national diploma. For a degree you'll need 2 to 3 A-Levels, or the equivalent.
Employers will set their own entry requirements.
Volunteering
You can get useful experience by playing sports, volunteering as a coach, helping out on community and holiday sports schemes, or working with a local sports club. This can start to build up your confidence and may lead to getting professional coaching qualifications.

We are looking for Customer Advisors to join our call centre in Hatfield.You will be taking a high volume of inbound calls and acting as the first point of contact when our customers call with their questions and queries, so it is vital that you represent the company in a positive, friendly and empathetic way. No two calls will be the same, so it will be important that you adapt to the different needs to quickly resolve the situation in a professional way.You don’t need to have worked in a call centre environment previously as full training will be provided. We are looking for individuals with great customer service skills as we are measured against the level of customer experience that we provide our customers. We are also looking for individuals who are comfortable with using a range of IT software as there will be a variety of systems used as a part of the day-to-day job. Full training on all software systems will be provided before you start.The salary for the role is 24,123 with a start date of Monday 20th May 2024. Please note that for the first 5 weeks, you will be doing compulsory training 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (ending 21st June)
