Local government administrative assistants provide clerical support in council departments and give information to the public.
You'll usually need 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or the equivalent, for a Level 2 course. For a Level 3 course, you'll need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or the equivalent.
You'll usually need some GCSEs, usually including English and maths, or equivalent, for a Level 2 (intermediate) apprenticeship. 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths, are needed for a Level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship.

With experience, you could progress to admin officer of office manager, or jobs in other local authority departments. You could also move into administrative work in other sectors.
School secretaries provide administrative support in schools.
European Union (EU) officials work for institutions like the European Commission or the European Parliament.
Health records clerks keep people's medical records up to date.
Reprographic assistants use copiers, scanners and printers to make documents, brochures, leaflets and pictures.
Farm secretaries are responsible for the day-to-day running of the business side of farms.
Credit controllers help firms get the money they are owed from businesses and individuals.
The Data Technician Apprentice will work with the Performance Reporting and Data Manager to support internal teams by providing regular reporting as well as ad-hoc analysis into performance whilst studying for the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship. This role will involve using a large range of data sets (including book issues, PC usage, customer demographics) to create data visualisations for a range of audiences, contributing to a strong reporting and data culture focused on improving operational performance and maximising the social value and impact of the charity.
